Australia Vietnam Policy Institute (AVPI) Launch Event
RMIT University, Asia Society Australia, Asialink and the Australia-Vietnam Leadership Dialogue were delighted to launch the first ever Australia Vietnam Policy Institute (AVPI) on 22 Feb 2022 via a hybrid event attended by over 300 people.
As a partnered platform for bilateral policy engagement, the AVPI brings together leaders across industry, research and government who are united by one shared vision: to champion the Australia-Vietnam strategic and economic bilateral relationship.
The virtual launch event was opened by remarks from the Australian Ambassador to Vietnam Her Excellency Ms Robyn Mudie, the Vietnamese Ambassador to Australia His Excellency Mr Nguyen Tat Thanh and RMIT Vice Chancellor and President, Professor Alec Cameron.
Aligning with the new Australia-Vietnam Enhanced Economic Engagement Strategy, The Honourable Dan Tehan MP shared an overview of the importance of the Australia-Vietnam economic relationship and the role of initiatives such as the AVPI in strengthening bilateral ties.
The launch event included a panel discussion on the activation of the Strategy, featuring Ms Louise Adams, COO, Aurecon & Australia-Vietnam Business Champion, Mr Richard Maude, Executive Director, Policy, Asia Society Australia and was facilitated by Australia Vietnam Business Champion Professor Martin Bean CBE.
