RMIT Vietnam and the AVPI are facilitating a 12-month program of engagement across 2023 to support the Australia-Vietnam Business Champion initiative, with the support of DFAT.
RMIT Vietnam is appointed by the Australian Embassy in Vietnam to act as the primary coordinator for the Vietnam-Australia Business Champions initiative, a key initiative under the Vietnam-Australia Enhanced Engagement Economic Strategy (EEES) released by the two governments in 2021. Six Business Champions were appointed to foster bilateral commerce between Vietnam and Australia.
In the recent planning with DFAT, MPI and the champions, it’s decided that the third roundtable will take place in Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) with the participation of senior leaders from both Governments and businesses, aiming to expand the Business Champions network in Vietnam and engage with business leaders in HCMC and Southern provinces.
The roundtable will also enhance the knowledge of Vietnamese businesses about trade and investment opportunities in Australia, as well as promote discussions on bilateral trade and investment activities. The Business Champions will also present findings from past activities with Southern businesses to gain more insights and recommendations in finalizing a series of policy briefings that will inform a report to the Ministers.
The 2022 Vietnam Business Champions were Hoang Cong Trang (CEO, TH Group), Nguyen Manh Hung (Member of the BOD, Vietcombank) and Nguyen Thi Thao Nguyen (Deputy General Director, Hoa Phat Group). As the Business Champions have busy schedules, other senior representatives from their organisations will be considered for participation in this roundtable. To read more about the champions, the program and the publications released so far please take a look at the Vietnam Business Champions page.
Attendance at all of the Business Champions Policy Roundtables are by invitation only. If you’re interested in future engagements or have suggestions on other businesses we should consider inviting, please contact [email protected]
