The Australia-Vietnam CEO Roundtable Series was delivered by the Asia Society Australia in 2021, with support from the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) and partners across Asia Society's collaborative network.
The virtual Roundtable events explored the Australian opportunity in Vietnam, drawing on case studies and knowledge sharing in key sectors to strengthen bilateral ties and support enhanced economic engagement. The series included:
Hosted on 2 June 2021 in partnership with the NSW Government and KPMG. This roundtable promoted greater awareness and understanding among NSW businesses seeking to enter the Vietnamese market, and identified pain points, challenges and practical ways where NSW Government could support and assist.
CEO Roundtable: Australia-Vietnam
Hosted on 4 June 2021 in partnership with DFAT, this roundtable brought together Australia’s business, university and civil society leaders with experience and interest in Vietnam to discuss trade and investment opportunities for Australian business in Vietnam and practical ways where government, business and university sector can work together in a “Team Australia” approach to strengthen the bilateral economic partnership.

Hosted on 16 November 2021 in partnership with the State Government of Victoria, this roundtable discussion touched on case studies and learnings of engaging in Vietnam, promoting greater awareness and understanding among Australian businesses seeking to enter the Vietnamese market, highlighting the common challenges and barriers of their respective sectors (and across those sectors) in Vietnam, and high-level future plans Australian businesses have for Vietnam as the economies reopen.

Hosted on 6 December 2021 in partnership with the University of Queensland, this roundtable explored case studies and learnings of engaging in Vietnam, promoting greater awareness and understanding among Australian universities seeking to enter the Vietnamese market, highlighting the common challenges and barriers of the higher education sector in Vietnam, and high-level future plans Australian universities have for Vietnam as the economies reopen.
