On Thursday, 29 August 2025, the AVPI hosted an event in Sydney on ‘The Australia-Vietnam relationship in Vietnam’s rising era – what’s next for our economies?’.

The discussion was facilitated by Louise Adams, Aurecon CEO, Australia’s Southeast Asia Business Champion for Vietnam and AVPI Advisory Board member. She was joined by Dr Huong Le Thu, AVPI Advisory Board Chair and Deputy Director of the Asia Program at International Crisis Group and Andrew Goldezinowski AM, former Australian Ambassador to Vietnam and AVPI Fellow.

The event welcomed over 30 representatives from across government, academia, and the non-profit sector. Attendees heard firsthand from our experts, who shared valuable insights on both new and existing opportunities in the Australia-Vietnam relationship. In a time of global change and regional disruption, they highlighted pathways for closer collaboration, the important role of businesses, and the value of bilateral cooperation in driving sustainable economic growth within our shared region.

It was a fantastic evening, and we would like to thank Aurecon for hosting, as well as to our Knowledge Partners and Sydney-based network for attending.
