On 4 September 2025, the AVPI entered into a Strategic Partnership with the Institute of Vietnam and World Economy (IVAWE)

The Institute of Vietnam and World Economy (IVAWE) is a research institute within the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences (VASS). This partnership aims to deepen Australia-Vietnam policy and research ties by promoting two-way knowledge exchange and policy consultation to find collaborative opportunities to deepen economic links.

As the AVPI’s major supporter, RMIT University was represented by Layton Pike, Interim DVC International & Engagement and AVPI Advisory Board member, who formalised the strategic partnership alongside Dr Pham Anh Tuan at the Institute of Vietnam and World Economy (IVAWE).

This milestone followed a roundtable with VASS at the AVPI Front Door at the RMIT Asia Hub on ‘Promoting Trade and Investment between Australia and Vietnam to Foster Green Growth and Accelerate the Energy transition’, facilitated by Louise Adams, CEO at Aurecon, Australia’s Business Champion for Vietnam, and AVPI Advisory Board member.

The AVPI looks forward to collaborating with IVAWE to support the Australia-Vietnam Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
