On Tuesday, 6 August 2024, the AVPI hosted an event in Brisbane with Dr Huong Le Thu.
Dr Le Thu is Chair of the AVPI Advisory Board and Deputy Director of the Asia Program at International Crisis Group. An influential and experienced policy analyst, Dr Le Thu is a long-term advocate for Australia-Vietnam and Australia-ASEAN relations.
It was a fantastic evening, with attendees hearing firsthand from Dr Le Thu with the conversation being facilitated by Professor Christoph NEDOPIL WANG, Director of Griffith Asia Institute.
With the recent elevation to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, Dr Le Thu provided valuable insights into new and existing opportunities between Australia-Vietnam, and how to leverage Vietnam’s unique environment for stronger two-way trade and investment.
Dr Le Thu also highlighted the significant opportunities for Australian businesses, noting the strength of Australia’s brand in the Vietnamese market. She emphasised the importance of building on this trusted reputation to enhance collaboration, particularly in the professional services industry and education sector.
