On Tuesday, 20 February 2024, the AVPI together with Industry Northern Territory, hosted its first roundtable in Darwin as part of the AVPI’s second roundtable series.
The roundtable discussion focused on exploring the future potential of a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (CSP) to increase trade and investment opportunities in agriculture and resources between Australia and Vietnam.
It was great to welcome participants from Darwin, which included representatives from government, industry and leaders in the agriculture sector. Together, they engaged in discussions about Northern Territory’s agriculture and resources sector and how to navigate the challenges and opportunities present in this area in order to conduct better business in Vietnam.
Participants also explored how Governments of Australia and Vietnam can best support the sector through the development of increased cross-cultural business literacy across the two countries. The roundtable provided strong insights into the necessary steps to increase awareness of the opportunity in Vietnam, as well as the realistic measures that can be taken to improve trade and investment opportunities.
Thank you to Camilla Philip, Director Trade Strategy, Dept. Industry, Tourism and Trade for co-facilitating the roundtable.
Supported by the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
