On Thursday, 21 March 2024, the AVPI hosted its first roundtable in Hobart as part of the AVPI's second roundtable series

Following the Launceston Roundtable on Tuesday, 19 March, the AVPI hosted its second Tasmania Roundtable in Hobart. Hosted together with the Department of State Growth (Tasmania), the roundtable discussion focused on exploring what the new Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (CSP) between Australia and Vietnam could achieve to enhance trade and investment in manufacturing, food and beverage, and agribusiness.

Similar to Launceston, participants emphasised the significance of fostering a trusting relationship between Australia and Vietnam. The roundtable discussions offered valuable insights into enhancing trade and investment, stressing the importance of establishing shared networks to facilitate improved, transparent, and sustainable communication with Vietnam. Additionally, there is a need for businesses to be aware of available support options, and have experts from both countries on the ground to provide industry support.

Thank you to the Department of State Growth (Tasmania) for co-hosting the roundtable and to Gabrielle Davy, International Affairs Manager, Trade and International Relations, Department of State Growth, Tasmania Government for co-facilitating the roundtable.

Supported by the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
