Business Champions Roundtable 6 - Ho Chi Minh City

The AVPI facilitated a 12-month program of engagement across 2022 to support the Australia-Vietnam Business Champion initiative, with the support of DFAT.

Three senior business leaders gave their time to lead this program and spark conversations in key sectors that are important to the Australia Vietnam bilateral relationship. Vietnam and Australia share an ambition to boost bilateral trade and investment to support both countries’ sustainable, inclusive economic growth. As part of this ambition, three industry leaders from each country have been appointed as ‘Business Champions’ to lead sectoral discussions around opportunities for greater two-way engagement.

The Business Champions are Rob Gordon (CEO, SunRice), Martin Bean (former Vice Chancellor, RMIT) and Louise Adams (COO, Aurecon). To read more about the champions, the program and the publications released so far please take a look at the Business Champions page.

This roundtable brought together the three Australian Business Champions to Vietnam, along with Australian industry and government leaders in Vietnam, building on a successful Roundtable series delivered by the Business Champions across Australian State and Territories between May and September 2022. It provided a unique platform for Australian businesses operating in Vietnam to share experiences and perspectives, and to discuss future opportunities for greater knowledge exchange and commercial collaboration across the bilateral relationship.  We gathered leaders and innovators who could offer key insights in doing business in Vietnam. We were interested in insights from industry, including insights on 1) the digital economy, 2) agriculture and food manufacturing, and 3) professional services.

Attendance at all of the Business Champions Policy Roundtables was by invitation only. If you’re interested in future engagements or have suggestions on other businesses we should consider inviting, please contact [email protected]
