The University of Sydney Vietnam Institute facilitates research and engagement opportunities between Australian and Vietnamese researchers, academics and students.
By facilitating intellectual and cultural exchange between researchers and partners in Vietnam and beyond, their research and engagement activities have local and global impact.
Established in 2023, the Institute combines the University of Sydney’s breadth of research activity in Vietnam into a pan-University research facilitator and engagement platform.
It leverages the University of Sydney’s research capabilities and fosters productive research networks with partners and industry in Vietnam across areas including medicine and health, economics, agriculture, the environment, food safety, and more.
Its research aims to improve the wellbeing of individuals and communities in Vietnam and beyond through multidisciplinary, collaborative, and impactful research and engagement.
The Institute also hosts events such as research seminars and symposiums, supports Vietnamese alumni relations activities, and provides a base for short- and long-term attachments and fellowships for Australian-based staff conducting research in Vietnam.
